Profile Quality Index

How AI agents compare places for travelers

When someone asks an AI agent where to stay, eat, or spend time, it compares facts from different sources, checks whether they are current, and may reject places with weak or conflicting information.

For travel businesses, that makes profile detail increasingly critical. Current opening hours help. So does a clear description of who the place suits, what it offers, and where those facts came from. Guests have varying preferences, and each person (and their agent) looks for different things.

With traditional marketing approaches, businesses typically only see the final outcome. They publish information and wait to see whether it helps them get found. If it does not, they usually cannot tell which missing fact or stale detail held them back.

GoVisit makes that gap transparent. We show what is missing from a place profile and suggest what to improve. Working through those gaps is a practical step toward being better understood by ChatGPT, Google Search, Gemini, Claude, and other AI systems. It gives those systems clearer, better-supported facts to use, which in turn leads to more citations and direct engagements.

What is the Profile Quality Index and how is it scored?

The Profile Quality Index (PQI) is GoVisit's score from 0 to 100 for the quality of the information available about a place.

On GoVisit, PQI is the currency of visibility. Businesses do not buy a position. They earn more exposure by keeping a profile useful, current, and supported by evidence. The score makes that relationship visible and gives them something concrete to improve.

People see the score as a blue badge on every GoVisit place page and place card. AI agents read the same index on every page and card through WebMCP.

GoVisit recalculates the score daily. It is a current read on profile quality, not a permanent label.

What information raises the Profile Quality Index?

The score goes up when a profile gives agents more reliable facts to compare:

  • Relevance and structure: the information follows real guest use cases.
  • Detail: the profile answers practical questions about location, facilities, services, offers, policies, access, and the guests the place serves.
  • Evidence: important details are supported by owner input, a connected website, media, a review, an attestation certificate, or another reliable source.
  • Provenance: claims are correct, and their source is clear.
  • Freshness: details have been reviewed recently and still describe the business as it operates today.

Adding text for its own sake does not help. A short, specific answer with solid evidence is more useful than a padded profile or repeated keywords.

How AI Admin Assistants turn profile gaps into ongoing improvements

The public page shows the overall score and the top five information gaps. That gives visiting agents a quick list of what to look for on the page.

Listed places are auto-managed by an AI Admin Assistant for that place, using publicly available information. That information is not always accurate. When a business owner chooses to manage the profile, they can correct the basics, add detail, provide evidence for claims, and keep the information aligned with the real business.

The AI Admin Assistant then works at a deeper level. It monitors which parts of the profile matter to travelers, builds a prioritized improvement plan, and initiates small fixes each week. One week that may mean adding a missing amenity. The next, it may mean refreshing evidence or asking the manager to clarify a claim. Automation handles the small updates; a person steps in when the change affects what guests can expect.

You can claim your place and keep it current as the business changes. If you have a brand website, you can also connect it to your AI Business Profile and direct visiting agents to your maintained GoVisit profile.

How the Profile Quality Index changes exposure on GoVisit

GoVisit category lists are ordered by Profile Quality Index. That is why the score affects exposure in practice: a place with a stronger, better-supported profile is listed ahead of one whose information is thin or stale.

When an AI agent asks a destination for accommodation options, current, trustworthy profiles give it a more reliable basis for matching a place to the request.

PQI is earned visibility, not paid placement. A high score does not override relevance, traveler intent, availability, or the details of a particular request. It gives GoVisit and its agents better information to use.

How the Profile Quality Index evolves as travel preferences change

We develop PQI as part of the GoVisit standard and are committed to opening it to the wider travel and hospitality industry when we hear enough demand.

The factors and their weights will change as traveler preferences shift, new evidence becomes available, and we add new capabilities to GoVisit. Treat the score as a current read on profile quality, not a permanent label.

What the Profile Quality Index does not measure

PQI is not a guest-review score, a measure of hospitality, or a way to buy ranking. It does not guarantee an AI citation, recommendation, booking, or revenue. It can change as the profile changes and as the standard evolves.

It answers a more practical question: how much useful, current, and trustworthy information does GoVisit have to work with today?

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Profile Quality Index?

The Profile Quality Index is GoVisit's 0–100 measure of the quality, freshness, completeness, provenance, and evidence of a place profile. It shows how profile quality can affect discoverability.

Can AI agents read the Profile Quality Index?

Yes. AI agents read the PQI value on every GoVisit place page and place card through WebMCP, which makes published place information available to them.

Is the Profile Quality Index a guest rating?

No. It measures the quality of the information GoVisit can use to represent and match your business. It is not a review score or a judgment of your hospitality.

Can I buy a higher Profile Quality Index?

No. GoVisit does not sell placement. The index reflects the quality of the profile and its supporting evidence. Paid profile-management services can help you maintain and improve your information, but they do not purchase a ranking.

Does a high Profile Quality Index guarantee bookings or recommendations?

No. A higher index can improve eligibility for relevant visibility, destination placement, and agent recommendations, but relevance, traveler intent, availability, and other factors still matter.
