Přehled
The Botanická zahrada Přírodovědecké fakulty Univerzity Karlovy, located at Na Slupi 433/16, acts as a living laboratory and a quiet refuge from the bustle of Prague. Since its opening in 1898, the site has curated a significant collection of plants, including a notable arboretum, historic greenhouses, and an alpine rock garden built from Hlubočepy limestone in 1904. Managed by the university, the garden bridges the gap between scientific instruction and public access, allowing visitors to walk through a landscape that retains the quiet, atmospheric charm of previous centuries. With a 32-meter difference in elevation across its 3.5-hectare grounds, the space offers diverse microclimates that support everything from delicate azaleas to ancient dendrological specimens, all maintained within the heart of the city.
