Přehled
Bertramka is a significant historic site in Prague that served as a Classicist villa and vineyard estate during the 18th century. It is primarily remembered for its association with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who was a guest of the owners, František Xaverius Dušek and his wife, the soprano Josefína Dušková. During his stay in 1787, Mozart completed his famous opera Don Giovanni, which premiered in Prague shortly thereafter. Today, the villa operates as a museum documenting the life and work of Mozart and the Dušek family. The exhibition spans seven residential rooms furnished with period pieces and houses a large collection of artifacts including letters, musical instruments, manuscripts, and portraits. Beyond the house, the estate features a garden with a sala terrena, which remains in use as a concert hall and showcases original wall paintings dating back to the early 18th century.
