Kostel svatého Václava

St. Wenceslas Church, located at náměstí 14. října 642/17, stands as a prime example of Czech interwar architectural achievement. Designed by Josef Gočár and completed in 1930, the building utilizes a reinforced concrete skeleton structure that adapts to the challenging slope of the site, resulting in a unique stepped roof profile. The interior continues this geometric simplicity, highlighted by work from artists like Josef Kaplický, who designed the main stained-glass window. Its 80-meter tower acts as a distinct marker on the Prague skyline, and the church remains an active religious site while also serving as a venue for musical performances.
