The Prague Metronome serves as a distinct landmark that defines the Letná skyline, replacing a site once dominated by a massive Stalin statue. The current installation, known as the Time Machine, is a 25-meter-tall kinetic sculpture that acts as a symbol of the democratic transitions in the Czech Republic. Because of the fragile structural state of the plinth after the original statue was demolished, the seven-ton pendulum had to be lowered into place by helicopter. Today, the area is a favored gathering spot for locals, particularly skaters and in-line enthusiasts who utilize the expansive concrete base. It is a highly recommended stop for those seeking a panoramic view of the Vltava River and Old Town, and it provides a quiet, elevated vantage point for anyone wanting to appreciate the city's architectural layers.
