Přehled
The Španělský sál remains one of the most significant and restricted spaces within the Prague Castle complex. Housed in the northern wing of the New Palace, this grand hall was originally commissioned in the 16th century to house the renowned collections of Emperor Rudolf II. While the hall is not open for standard visitor entry, it serves as a core functional space for high-level state ceremonies, official presidential acts, and select cultural concerts. Visitors to the castle complex can view the architectural scale of the northern wing from the surrounding courtyards, noting how this space integrates with the overall design of the New Palace. Its history, tied to both imperial ambition and modern state protocol, defines its role as an exclusive venue far removed from public sightseeing routes.
