Located in the tranquil Botič Valley beneath the Vyšehrad fortress, the Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary serves as a profound connection to the reign of Emperor Charles IV, who founded the monastery in 1360. Originally built as a Servite monastery, the structure has undergone significant shifts, including a Baroque transformation in the 18th century and a later Neo-Gothic redesign that defines its current interior appearance. Since 1995, it has served as an active sanctuary for the Orthodox Church, where it is known as the Temple of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos. Visitors can admire the preserved architectural elements and the 1857 altar painting by Leopold Kupelwieser, all within a space that maintains a quiet, sacred atmosphere away from the busier tourist trails of Prague.
