Overview
The Galerie Roberta Guttmanna, situated at U Staré školy 153/3, is a specialized 80 square metre exhibition space dedicated to the Jewish Museum in Prague. Currently undergoing significant renovations and rebranding as ARTSCHUL, it occupies a site historically significant as the location of the 13th-century Altschul synagogue. The facility is engineered to protect and display light-sensitive materials like historic parchments, textiles, and rare books through advanced climate control and adjustable lighting. While currently closed to the public with a projected reopening in the fourth quarter of 2025, the venue remains a critical landmark for those interested in Jewish heritage and professional museum standards. Once operational, it will provide barrier-free access and house temporary, high-quality exhibitions centered on Jewish life, the persecution of Bohemian and Moravian Jews, and contemporary visual arts.
