Přehled
The Petrin Tower remains a major landmark of Prague, originally constructed for the 1891 Jubilee Exhibition as a smaller, one-fifth scale model inspired by the Eiffel Tower. Standing 58.70 meters tall, it offers clear views across the entire city and on favorable days, reaching as far as much of the Bohemian countryside. Visitors can climb 299 steps or use the elevator to reach the observation deck. The site also features a permanent basement exhibition documenting the history and transformation of Petrin Hill, along with the story of the Czech Tourist Club members who initiated the project. The grounds are famous for the traditional May 1st romantic activity of couples kissing under the flowering cherry trees.
