Galerie Pastelka provides a focused, singular experience centered entirely on the work of Marie Brožová, a Czech artist who has spent two decades elevating the common colored pencil into a medium for serious, large-format fine art. Founded by the Brožovi couple in 2009, this gallery is positioned just steps away from the iconic Old Town Astronomical Clock, making it an accessible stop for those touring the city center. Visitors will find a collection defined by its departure from standard academic art school trends and fashion-driven styles, instead relying on a source of inspiration found in nature and personal dreams. The gallery showcases the output of the Obhajoba pastelky, or Defense of the Pencil, project, which saw the artist drawing large-scale A0 works in public view across the country and abroad.
