Overview
Artwall is a distinct public gallery project located along the Vltava river, utilizing six monumental niches that were once part of a wall used for communist propaganda. By repurposing this site, the gallery serves as a democratic space for contemporary art that tackles social and political issues, such as human rights, gender equality, and democracy. It is open to the public twenty-four hours a day, making it one of the most visited galleries in the Czech Republic due to its accessible placement on a busy city embankment. The program is curated by the c2c Circle of curators and critics, featuring a mix of local and international artists, including students and activists, to foster mutual dialogue and connect people through art.
